Gospel Statement

The church exists to proclaim, defend and display the Gospel.  The gospel reveals the truth about the greatness of God, and how He saves lost sinners.

It is the joyous declaration that God is redeeming sinners through Christ (Matt. 1:21; Luke 1:68; Eph. 1:7; Col 1:20), and that He calls everyone, everywhere, to repent from sin and trust Jesus Christ for salvation. (Mark 1:15; Acts 2:38; 17:30).

God reveals Himself in His written word, the Bible. He is one God, and yet exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

He is the all-knowing, all-powerful Creator, sovereign over all; perfectly wise, holy, glorious, good, loving, faithful and just.

He made everything for His own glory. He is immeasurably great and worthy of reverence, worship and honour from all people.

God created man – male and female, in His own image, with immortal souls, to glorify God and to praise Him forever.

Man rebelled against God, bringing death – sin’s penalty, to the human race, a curse on the creation and universal suffering.

God calls us to love and obey Him, but we have spurned His love, forsaken His laws and willfully resisted His rightful rule over us.

The sad truth is that we are fallen creatures – alienated from God, guilty, helpless, lost, ruined and without hope unless He saves us.

The Gospel is the overwhelmingly good news of mercy and forgiveness  for lost sinners through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ, God’s Son, was without sin, and offered Himself as a substitutionary, atoning sacrifice to save all who trust Him.

Christ the Son is perfect God and perfect man. He died on the cross suffering the penalty due to us, to forgive us and reconcile us to God.

Jesus rose to life, defeating death and hell, and is enthroned in heaven crowned with glory and honour. He will return as the Judge of all.

Salvation is by grace alone through faith in Christ alone. Undeserved, it is a gift received by faith through the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit.

God calls us to repent and trust in Jesus to escape condemnation, and receive pardon, new hearts,  adoption as His children and eternal life.

God says He will hold us to account. The coming judgement will bring fearful consequences for all who reject our only Saviour, Jesus Christ.

God demonstrates His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:80).
